Nine common data fields

Accurate and up-to-date common data is needed for the identification of all unique members. This type of data must be held all schemes. When missing or incorrect, it becomes impossible to identify and trace members or their benefits. The nine fields are as follows:

1.National insurance number

2.Surname and either forename/initials


4.Date of birth

5.Membership/policy start date or first contribution date

6.Expected retirement date

7.Membership status

8.Last status event (date at which membership status last changed)

9.Address including postcode
